Välkommen att delta med oss på Cureras sista programpunkt innan sommaren! Vi avslutar föreläsningsserien Samverkan med en nätverksträff på Havremagasinet i Boden tillsammans med Svensk Curatorförening och Norsk Curatorförening.

Till skillnad från konstnärer har curatorer i Sverige, fram tills nyligen, inte haft en organisation som representerat och argumenterat för curatorernas yrkesroll och intressen. Under de senaste åren har dock fältet mobiliserats i Sverige, Norden och Baltländerna.
Svensk och Norsk Curatorförening arbetar med att stärka och främja arbetet som curator och främja curatorernas villkor. Genom att mötas, dela med oss och ta del av både framgångar och motgångar skapar vi en djupare förståelse för likheter och skillnader i varandras arbetsmetoder och strukturer.
Under mötet i Boden möts curatorer från Sverige, Norge och Lettland. Vi kommer att fokusera på curatorernas arbetsvillkor i respektive land och hur vi kan bygga hållbara relationer mellan de nordiska och baltiska länderna. Vi fördjupar oss även i frågor och erfarenhetsutbyten om betydelsefulla och innovativa curatoriella metoder samt reflektioner kring hur vi kan skapa en djupare förståelse för curatorsyrket hos institutioner och allmänheten.
På nätverksträffen deltar både frilansande curatorer och curatorer med anställning eller koppling till en institution.
Programmet Working Conditions & Dream Contracts (sv. "Arbetsvillkor och drömkontrakt") presenteras i samarbete med Svensk curatorförening på Havremagasinet Länskonsthall Boden. Programmet inleds fredag den 9 juni med curatorspresentationer, och följs under lördagen upp av workshopen Reflecting on the Dream Contract som leds av Anne Szefer Karlsen (Norsk curatorförening).

Svensk Curatorförening är en politiskt obunden ideell förening som bildades 2021. Föreningens syfte är att företräda, skydda och främja curatorers yrkesmässiga, ekonomiska och sociala position.
Norsk Curatorförening är en nationell oberoende ideell organisation baserad i Oslo och grundades år 2011. Den arbetar för att öka förståelsen för curatorisk praktik i Norge och för att främja medlemmarnas juridiska och ekonomiska villkor gentemot offentliga beslutsfattare och kulturinstitutioner.
Havremagasinet Länskonthall Boden invigdes 2010 och är en av Sveriges största platser för samtidskonst. Initierat av konstnärskollektivet Kilen med en vision om att bli ett centrum för samtidskonst i Norrbotten, har det hittills presenterat över femtio utställningar och otaliga programpunkter och möten och är nu regionens länskonsthall.

Working Conditions & Dream Contracts
Welcome to join us for the last programme point of Curera before the summer! We conclude our series of lectures by collaborating with the Swedish Association of Curators and the Norwegian Association of Curators, whose main goal is to actively represent, protect and promote curators.
By sharing from both successes and setbacks we will gain a deeper understanding of similarities and differences in working methods, structures as well as an understanding of history and context in order to enhance and cultivate curatorial work.
In contrast to artists, curators in Sweden have previously not had an organisation to represent them or to argue for and explain their position. There has been a mobilisation of the field in the region in the past years where for instance Norway has established a functioning model for a curatorial association, and Iceland is about to register one officially.
The network’s key issue is to delve into significant and innovative curatorial methods and understand the concerns of curators to create ‘space’ of reflection and a deeper understanding of the curatorial profession among the public. This encounter in Boden will focus on the working conditions for curators in the respective countries, challenges in operating in a fairly remote (northern) context, and how to build sustainable relationships across the Nordic and Baltic countries. The network is formed by both independent curators and curators attached to institutions.
The programme Working Conditions & Dream Contracts is presented in collaboration with the Swedish Association of Curators at Havremagasinet Länskonsthall Boden. The programme begins Friday June 9th with a public talk and curator presentations, and is followed up on Saturday June 10th with the workshop Reflecting on the Dream Contract, led by Anne Szefer Karlsen from the Norwegian Association of Curators.

The Swedish Association of Curators is a politically unaffiliated independent association that was founded in 2021. The association's purpose is to represent, protect and promote curators' professional, economic and social position.
The Norwegian Association of Curators is a national, independent organisation located in Oslo and founded in 2011. It works to enhance the understanding of curatorial practice in Norway and to promote the legal and economic conditions of its members vis-à-vis public policymakers and cultural institutions.
Havremagasinet Länskonsthall Boden, inaugurated in 2010, is one of the largest spaces for contemporary art in Sweden. Initiated by the artist collective Kilen with a vision to become a center for contemporary art in Norrbotten, it has so far presented over fifty exhibitions and countless program points and meetings and is now the region's county art gallery.
