I detta samtal diskuterar vi tillvägagångssätt för att omfördela curatoriell och kulturell makt och tittar närmare på organisationsformer som kan växa fram genom aktiva handlingar av decentralisation. Genom att utforska koncept som gästfrihet närmar vi oss olika handlingar som kan bidra till en mer hållbar konstnärlig framtid genom att exempelvis utveckla långvariga samarbeten och curatoriella praktiker med omsorg för olika professionella utövare och institutioner. Om deltagarna
Jussi Koitela arbetar för närvarande som programchef på Frame Contemporary Art Finland och curerar det publika programmet Rehearsing Hospitalities tillsammans med Yvonne Billimore. Koitela och Billmore curerar även just nu den finska paviljongen vid Venedigbiennalen 2024. Nyligen har Koitelas curatoriska arbete flätat samman konst, gestaltning av forskningsmetoder, urbana rumsliga sammanhang, samarbeten, gästfrihet praxis och materialitet i olika former av utställningar och kunskapsspridning.
Gonçalo Marques är en kreativ entreprenör och arbetar med projekt som syftar till att göra konstvärlden mer inkluderande och tillgänglig för alla. Som en av grundarna av Northern Sustainable Futures och Moskosel Creative Lab är Marques engagerad i att tillhandahålla en unik fysisk plats som erbjuder konstnärer en trygg bas för att uttrycka sin kreativitet i norra Sveriges gelsbygd. Marques är involverad i projektet iMKONSTHALL och håller för närvarande på att utveckla Art Clubcard.
Moskosel Creative Lab är en kreativ mötesplats i Norrbottens inland med konstnärsateljéer, bostäder och utställningsmöjligheter.
I samarbete med Resurscentrum för konst i Norrbotten fortsätter arbetet med ett regionalt curatoriellt nätverk som utifrån rådande förutsättningar i länet ska främja en professionalisering av det curatoriska arbete som pågår. Nätverkets andra träff genomförs på plats i Moskosel i anslutning till samtalet om förnyelse av curatoriella och organisatoriska arbetssätt.

Architecture as curatorial cornerstone
Join us for a talk with Jussi Koitela (curator and programme manager, Frame Contemporary Art Finland, Fi) and Gonçalo Marques (Northern Sustainable Futures, SE) where we discuss ways of redistributing curatorial and cultural power.
During the talk, we will look into the organisation formats that can emerge from acts of decentralisation. By exploring the concept of hospitality, we will consider different actions that can lead to a more sustainable artistic future, such as developing long-term collaborations and fostering curatorial care practices between different art professionals, and institutions.
The talk is led by Lucie Gottlieb (Konstfrämjandet Norrbotten) and will be in English.
About the participants
Jussi Koitela is currently working as the Head of Programme at Frame Contemporary Art Finland, curating Rehearsing Hospitalities public programme together with Yvonne Billimore. With Billmore they are currently also curating the Finnish Pavilion at the Venice Biennale 2024. Recently, his curatorial work has intertwined art, embodied research methods, urban spatial contexts, collaboration, hospitality practices and materiality in various forms of exhibition and ways of producing knowledge.
Gonçalo Marques is a creative entrepreneur, working on projects seeking to make art worlds more inclusive and accessible to everyone. As co-founder of Northern Sustainable Futures and Moskosel Creative Lab, he is dedicated to providing a unique physical location that offers artists a safe base to unleash their creativity in rural northern Sweden. Marques is involved with the project iMKONSTHALL and is currently developing the Art Clubcard.
Moskosel Creative Lab is a creative meeting place in Norrbotten's inland with artist studios, housing and exhibition opportunities.
